Liberty and Riding Weekend Retreat

Come along for a liberty and riding retreat style clinic at the Breakin Hearts Ranch facility in Caboolture. This is an amazing facility with a undercover arena and stables for the horses. This clinic is designed for all horses regardless of the breed, age or discipline! Young horses are welcome, as you can stick to the ground work side of things, while riders of all abilities are able to get on and learn at your own level!

Beginning on Friday the 5th of July, you and your horse will have some one on one time with Joe in either liberty or ridden work. In this 45 minute session, we will be looking at the fundamental principles of either ground work or ridden work, which will set you up to start on the right foot for the Saturday group sessions.

Saturday morning will include a ground work group lesson, followed by a riding group lesson. You may choose to partake in either discipline Saturday morning.  This will be the same for the afternoon. This means you will have the opportunity to stick to one discipline (groundwork or ridden), or if you would like to mix it up, you can begin with ground work in the morning followed by ridden work in the afternoon! It is entirely up to you and your horse! Sunday morning, we will cover again both ground work and ridden work, so that you can have a refresh and recap of all the skills and exercises that we have previously covered.

The last ridden session of the day will be followed by an optional group trail ride around the property. We aim to finish everything by around midday on Sunday so you will have the afternoon to get home without rushing.

A rough breakdown of the schedule will be:
Friday 10am: Arrive with your horses ready for an afternoon of one on one lessons
Friday 12pm-6pm: Individual lessons for all attendees (45mins each)
Friday night (7pm): Optional group dinner at Sandstone Point Tavern
Saturday 8am: Your choice of participating in the 1st group groundwork lesson, or
Saturday 10am: 1st group riding lesson
Saturday 1:30pm: Your choice of participating in the 2nd group groundwork lesson, or
Saturday 3:30pm: 2nd group riding lesson Saturday night: BBQ dinner provided followed by campfire
Sunday 8am: Your choice of participating in the 1st group groundwork lesson, or
Sunday 10am: 1st group riding lesson (followed by a group trail ride)
Finish around 12pm Sunday.

Friday night, we will have the option to head to the nearby, Sandstone Point Tavern for a group dinner. Saturday night, BBQ dinner is provided. Followed by songs around the campfire and chatting all things horses and training. Basic accomodation is available onsite for those who don’t want to camp, however it is limited so you’ll have to get in quick. Otherwise, camping is available for those who prefer. Showers, toilets and kitchen facilities are available on site.

For the horses, stables are available. Stabling fee is included in the overall price, however please bring a few bags of shavings for your stable. Fence sitter tickets are available for Saturday only for those who would like to come and learn without a horse. We highly encourage fence sitters as there is still so much you can learn from the sidelines!

These clinics are great fun for all and very educational as well as social! We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere!
